Official statement from Arcturus :

A lot of rumours have been going around after our gig in Melbourne. Simen opened the concert with the words "Welcome to the last Arcturus-show ever". This is a decision we made some time ago. We all have a lot of things going on in our carreers and our lives, and therefore can not find the time to continue working with this band.

We are humble and grateful to all the people that have supported and loved us over the years.

Started as an atmospheric black metal side-project of Sverd and Hellhammer, who were also playing in a death metal band called Mortem (Nor). Later on, they evolved into an avantgarde band.

Øyvind Hægeland left the band on January 5, 2005, due to work commitments.

Simen Hestnæs officially joined Arcturus as a full time member on January 15, 2005

Hoy me he sentado despues de un dia algo atareado, y lo primero que he puesto en mi playlist es este disco, Blood Red Throne es una banda de death metal clasico con unos tintes de brutal death en tematica y estilo.

Se podria decir que hacen un death metal de estilo americano pero la sorpresa es que estos musicos no son de la archifamosa "gringolandia" conocida por tener para muchos la mejor escena de death metal, tambien de ser el home club de este genero. Lo que impresiona es que son noruegos, como? Acaso noruega no es sinonimo de black metal???

Si son noruegos, encontraran musicos famosos de bandas de black metal y de death, un ejemplo a tomar es el lider de la banda, Tchort (Terje Vik Schei) conocido por su trabajo en la banda leyendaria de black metal Emperor, Carphatian Forest, Green Carnation y ex- miembro de Satyricon y esta al mando de la masacre electrica, Erlend Caspersen, bajista de Deeds of Flesh y bajista de sesion de los afamados Decrepit Birth.

Bueno al comenzar para dar un paso este disco tiene tanta importancia como su clasico Affiliated With The Suffering, ni mas ni menos tiene un estilo crudo, comenzando por un intro de casi 3 minutos llamado Death of Birth tiene un sonido oscuro y tenebroso, da el sentimiento de esta en una sala de tortura bañado en sangre pero todo ocurre en silencio.

Y hasta que comienza la masacre con el segundo track Incarnadine Mangler, para mi es mi favorita y da un concepto rapido de la banda, riffs asquerosamente pesados, tecnica, buenos cambios de ritmo, tempos variados, velocidad inhumana un bajo bastante machacon y impera en muchas partes de la cancion se acompla bien con los riffs de Tchort y de Dod la primera guitarra, la bateria es machacona y con unos blast beats muy bien acentuados, destacando tambien que esta me gusta el tono de como se mezcla con los demas instrumentos en especial en los cambios de tempo.

El segundo track Tortured Soul Appareance, es mas explosiva que la anterior, debido a que predomina mas un tempo mas comodo y lento comparado con la anterior, pero esta en varias partes explota con un cambio de velocidad impresionante en esta cancion veo mas la capacidad de variacion musical de la banda aunque esta sea demasiado bizarra y de poca melodia, aunque la cancion en partes lleva una misma formula de riffs es bastante variada.

Para no seguir el review cancion por cancion por la cual me tomaria un buen tiempo les hablare de las canciones que andemas de sobresalientes, pienso que podran generalizar el concepto que hay en el album.

En otra onda mas lenta pero pesada esta Arterial Lust, uno de los tracks mas lentos para mi, un riffeo machacon la voces endemoniadas de este vocalista aunque no varian en nada en el estilo de ellos se acopla muy bien por la crudeza de ambas partes, en esta cancion va como un baile para mi, me gusta el riffeo en los versos antes de decir el coro, Filthfucking deathcore, pulsecutting whoreTear liar slut! Arterial lust!

Estos hombres hacen un death metal digno de oir, aunque hay canciones que tienen en algunas partes la misma formula, no cae en el cansancio y la repeticion que muchas veces llega a restarle puntos a muchos discos, algo negativo, el vocalista no varia y aveces se econtraran aburrido el cantar de este señor a pesar de su voz no habia oido y es muy original de parte de el, es una voz Low Picth pero con un toque distinto a las que he oido. el disco tiene un toque personal de ellos eso me gusta sacar a flote el death clasico y combinarlo con una produccion impecable y nitida y el toque brutal que necesitan.
